Good morning, and happy Monday! I was convinced when I woke up this morning that it was Sunday. When Kyle started talking about his workday, I got baffled. I had to look at my phone and see the words “Monday” flash across the screen. Pregnancy brain is real. I made a quick breakfast and got straight to uploading photos for this recap post. I’m hoping to have it done early afternoon, so I can go to our local nursery to pick up a few indoor fruit trees.
I have been keeping my lemon tree alive for two years now, so I’m going to reward myself by adding a few more fruit trees to the family. I’ll keep you posted on my random afternoon fruit tree excursion. Sometimes I get these wild ideas in my head, and I can’t let them go. It’s like the time when I planted over 10,000 zinnias in my backyard on a whim. They sure did look pretty this summer, and I still need to get a zinnia blog up! I’ve already purchased my seeds for the spring. This summer, my morning workouts will consist of me carrying the baby around while watering all of my flowers. I cannot wait for the garden season already. I hope to have an outdoor vegetable garden built this summer, so fingers crossed for that project! Kyle said he’d be able to build it for me, and my dad will come over and help me get everything planted and started. He’s the vegetable garden genius.
We traveled all last Monday, so my official week started on Tuesday. It was so good to be back in the yard playing with Leo and Tux, even if it was 30-degrees outside. I missed their little faces and cute backyard play sessions. Tux lost his mind when he saw us back home! It was the first time we left him in seven months, and he greeted us as if we were gone for ten years.
Since we’ve been home, he’s been acting like a completely different dog. He’s walking all over the house wagging his tail, fetching toys, greeting us by the door, walking up to us to take treats, and he’s even letting us approach him in the backyard for a rub down. He comes right inside/outside when we open the door, and he’s been sleeping through the night. Maybe leaving and coming back let him know this was his forever home. I don’t know what the change was, but he’s almost acting as if we got him as a puppy, and he’s been living with us all these years. And if it’s God that has answered our prayers, thank you! I love giving you guys a positive Tux update!
I had two slices of Daves Killer Bread with egg for my french toast kick, apple chicken sausage from Applegate, and maple syrup!
And as if cravings couldn’t get any weirder, I saw crab legs at the grocery store and just had to have them. I’ve always loved crab legs, but I didn’t think I’d love them while pregnant!
On Wednesday, we had our Anatomy scan to see how the baby was doing! We got the best news when the doctor said everything looked perfect. We made sure to let them know that we didn’t want to know the gender when we first got there. She was so good about not letting anything slip or show! I cannot wait to see our baby in 18 more weeks! The time is flying by.
