Happy Tuesday!
I have been so lazy this morning. I have so much to do, but instead, I’ve chosen to sit here in my robe swiping up on TikTok for the past two hours. I hate when I get sucked into that rabbit hole. Luckily, it’s going to warm up this afternoon, so I can get out for my walk with Leo and listen to a few podcasts. I’m so thankful my body has allowed me to continue walking 3 miles a day in my third trimester. I have my glucose test tomorrow, which I am not looking forward to. I’m hoping the drink isn’t as bad as everyone says it is. I do tend to like weird flavors and textures, so maybe I’ll actually enjoy it. I’ll report back!
Last night, I cooked one of Kyle’s favorite meals for Valentine’s Day. It was so good! I’ll make sure to post that recipe soon. We stayed up watching the new season of Love is Blind on Netflix, and it’s so much better than the Bachelor. I am SO OVER the Bachelor franchise. I don’t know why I put myself through the same storyline each season. I think it’s just the comfort of having something play in the background while I work on the computer. Anyways, I’m babbling. Let’s get this recap post going!
On Monday morning, I made some of my favorite three-ingredient protein waffles (you can make pancakes with this recipe, too.) All you need is one scoop of protein powder, two eggs, and one mashed banana. I used this cute little waffle maker my neighbor got me for my birthday, and it worked so well! This recipe made five perfect mini waffles. I also added fresh raspberries to my waffles maple syrup and had cotton candy grapes on the side.
I finally got around to cleaning out the refrigerator. This took several hours because I removed every drawer, shelf, and item from the fridge. I scrubbed everything down until it was sparkling. During my first trimester, my cravings would change by the hour, so I had all sorts of random food shoved into the freezer, taking up space. Now, it’s so organized, and it makes me so happy. I think the third-trimester nesting phase has kicked in because I can’t stop organizing and decluttering. After years of mismatched containers, I donated all of my older containers to goodwill and purchased glass containers for the fridge. This has made fridge organizing so much easier. It’s also easier to find lids and containers in the drawer. I’ll share an updated organized picture soon! I have my fruit, leftovers, and chopped veggies stored away in the containers for easy access.
After hard work, I had some leftover pizza and roasted veggies for lunch.
I spent the evening diving into Newborn 101. I am so in love with this book! I have been devouring each page and highlighting so many important parts. Even Kyle will read this book because it has valuable information for Dads. I have learned so much from reading this book, and I think it will help me navigate birth and bringing home our baby. I can’t believe I’m admitting this, but I have been crazy obsessed with watching birth vlogs on YouTube. I love seeing how different the experiences are, and it helps to prepare me mentally with what to expect. After watching 100+ vlogs, this book has taught me more in one hour than all of those videos. I highly suggest purchasing this book if you’re pregnant!
I had cantaloupe, a bagel with cream cheese, and cotton candy grapes for dinner.
I’ve been switching back and forth between protein oats and cereal for breakfast in the mornings. I have it with a bit of iced coffee, sit down to play Wordle, and start working on the computer. I’m back to waking up around 5:00 am each morning, but that’s because we’re usually in bed by 7:30 pm. I’m sure that’ll change soon with the lighter evenings, but I’m so exhausted during the evenings.
I worked from the loft on Tuesday morning while watching Sweet Magnolias. I have been slowly watching this show, so I don’t binge it all in one day! It took almost two years for them to drop the second season, so I’m taking my time. I will have to do a loft reveal soon (I have so many home posts to catch up on) once we are finished. I have a terrible time picking out wall art, so once I get that figured out, we’ll be able to share it! This loft bleeds into the nursery so it will be a kid’s play/tv room. For dinner, I made my favorite chicken Caesar salad wraps! I make so many extras and package them up to eat throughout the week. I cheated this time and made the recipe with a Caesar salad kit instead of making the Caesar salad from scratch.
After our 3-mile walk on Thursday, Leo and I cuddled up for a few hours upstairs so I could read. He’s been so attached to me lately but super gentle. I think he knows something is up because he doesn’t jump up on me, and he’s always following me around. Even at night, he’ll get as close as he can to me, and it melts my heart. Whenever I have trouble sleeping, I snuggle him close, and it puts me back to sleep for some reason. He’s just a calming pup!
I have been in love with peanut butter and banana as a snack lately!
I needed to get rid of the dinner rolls in my freezer since they had been there for months. I decided to make my mom’s cinnamon buns, which are deadly! They are 10x better than cinnamon rolls and taste like a better version of cinnamon roll centers. They are so easy to make, and you only need four ingredients. She made them on our first day of school and Christmas morning. I loved waking up to the smell of these! I think I’m going to continue her tradition for my kids. This was the first time making them for Kyle, and he was obsessed. I had some leftover cheese and crackers from the charcuterie board I made for lunch on Thursday, a chicken salad wrap and grapes.
It was gorgeous outside on Thursday. I took Leo to get a Starbucks with me (he loves pupuccinos), and we headed outside to chill out on a blanket soaking up some vitamin D. I think his pupuccino hit him a little too hard. I tried to give tux one, but he did not like it I gave him bacon instead.
I had a bagel with avocado, chicken salad, and a side of crackers and avocado for dinner.
The baby never stops moving! My stomach is constantly twitching and jumping. We love talking to the baby and watching them respond with kicks. I’m almost positive this morning I saw their foot poking out of my side. I have a posterior placenta, so the kicks started at week 17. My stomach is constantly wiggling and twitching from the baby as I’m typing this.
On Friday, I had a smoothie for breakfast! It had vanilla plant-based protein powder, almond milk, frozen peaches, frozen raspberries, frozen mango, and granola on top!
My mom and I took Leo for a 3-mile walk because it was 50-degrees out early in the morning. We sat on the porch having coffee after our walk talking about flowers and garden plans for a good two hours! Once we get started, there’s no stopping us. I made us a chicken salad wrap with fresh fruit for lunch before she headed back home.
I made broccoli-potato fries and lettuce-wrapped cheeseburgers for dinner on Friday night.
That evening, Tux and Leo played tug of war for the first time! I couldn’t believe it! The funny thing is that it was my scrunchy they were playing with. Saturday morning protein pancakes and apple chicken sausage!
I made some almond flour chocolate cupcakes. The Blue Diamond cake mixes are unbelievable! If you have a gluten or dairy allergy, I highly recommend this brand. It tastes way too good to be made from a box! The brownie mix is just as good! We prefer this brand over the regular stuff because of the taste.
After baking, I sat outside reading because it was 70-degrees outside on Saturday, and I refused to be inside.
For lunch, I was going to order a DoorDash but convinced myself to do a smoothie instead. I didn’t want to wait on food since I was so hungry already. I made a smoothie with peaches, a banana, raspberries, mango, protein powder, almond milk and topped it with granola and more peaches. My bulbs are coming up! I can’t believe it The front of my house gets sun all day, so the ground is much warmer, which is why my bulbs are coming up. I planted over 100 tulips mixed with hyacinths around my front tree. On Sunday, I put together a little Super Bowl snack tray for Kyle and me. I made it super early because we usually have dinner around 4:30 and fall asleep before 7:30. I didn’t even make it past the first quarter of the game. I ended up watching all the highlights, the halftime show, and good commercials when I woke up! I’m trying to get all the sleep I can now before our baby arrives in a few months!
